I’m writing this post as I’m sick and tired of seeing kids take their own lives from bullying, not just those taking their own lives but those dealing with bullying on a day-to-day basis. It angers me that such things are going on, and that people are allowing it to go on. Something needs to be done, and it needs to be done now, especially in the school environment. Education is key and if you’re going through education being bullied, each day is a battle waiting to get home and away from the bullies, whilst this is happening you’re not paying attention to your education and most days you’ll try to fake being ill just not to go school. Believe me I personally have being bullied a lot and I found it hard for my school to actually help me, I had to help myself. I was lucky that I had an approach of dealing with the bullying and ignoring it, taking a beating and just getting on with things, that’s not the case with everyone, and in a split second a kids life can be gone, and their family’s life turned upside down.
How many more lives does it take to take the matter seriously and do something about it?
Don’t get me wrong there are plenty of places out there where you can go for help, however most are just for advice and can’t stop the bullying for you. I am pleased that many people do care, but shouldn’t the schools care? After doing a fair share of research and experiencing this matter personally most schools have a zero tolerance to bullying. They openly preach this however a lot of the time it’s not true. Its one thing saying that you have a zero tolerance policy on bullying buts it’s another thing to go ahead and enforce it.
Throughout my schools years I was bullied pretty much every year on a day-to-day basis excluding the last years of primary school and starting years of secondary school. The bullying went from verbal to physical, I was lucky I was comfortable talking to my mum. My mum informed all schools, headteacher the lot, all they did was have ‘words’ with me and those bullying, but most the time that did nothing but worsen the situation. They do not target the situation properly. Most schools can’t deal with bullying properly, talking to the bullies first was something that came up before for me, then of course they were favouring the bully and I was no longer the victim but the one being punished?
The point I am making is that the system is flawed and those bullying others need to be punished as soon as it starts, it needs to be stopped before things escalate. What first starts as names can then turn into fists and weapons, it can escalate over a week or years of someones life. Kids don’t know how to best deal with such situations and not everyone has the confidence to speak out about what’s going on. Schools may think it’s not a problem if no one is getting hurt, but even names can hurt, you may have heard sayings such as ‘Sticks and stone will break my bones but names will never harm me’, but they most certainly can hurt someone. Don’t get me wrong some schools are better than others and some do pinpoint the bullying. We are all humans and have feelings, and we should all be treated fairly.
This post I’m writing now will most likely not make a difference, and nothing is going to change with one post. Laws need to change and so does the schools policies to deal with the situations better. I could have been another lost life if I did not deal with the situation well, at the end of the day are the lost just a number to people? Or are they are lost human? An impacted loss on society? That kid could have been the cure for cancer, they could have been a doctor, an athlete, anything. Their families could have been happy, had grandchildren.
We can blame the schools and parents and the bullies, but the scenarios can all be very different per situation, that’s why this needs to be targeted and there needs to be a proper way of dealing with it, if teachers are not taking it seriously parents will, if parents are not taking it seriously teachers should, there should always be someone to go to for help, and get the situation pinpointed and under control.
All forms of bullying are bad weather it’s just name calling, cyberbullying and it does not have to lead to a death to even be bad. Prime Ministers, presidents and schools need to up their games and get things sorted. Before more lives are lost and more kids fell down in the dumps and are scared to go school. Today is the start of school again in the UK for most schools, many will be going nervous for the first days, others excited, but I’m almost positive there will be many scared for their lives, or having a bad day because of bullying.
Thanks for reading this, and I’m hopefully going to gather my thoughts together and make a difference on this matter so stay tuned, its something I feel strongly about and what to help make a change. Remember if you’re being bullied there are places you can go to get help and it’s not the end of the world. Below are some useful sites I used back when I was being bullied when I was younger, they made my life easier and today I can gladly say I do not get bullied.

Please consider sharing this post, it will help spread the word and make more aware of what’s going on.
Don’t be afraid to speak up, you beat the bullies, don’t let the bullies beat you.
